Salvador Tineo Leads The Mini Challenge for Team Guarnieri

The Portimao circuit in Portugal was the venue for the first race of the Spanish Mini Challenge Championship 2011. Saturday’s 50 minute race was very hard and well fought with drivers constantly fighting for the lead and pit stops crucial.

7 - year - old Marbella driver  Salvador Tineo, who started from tenth position won the race in a spectacular fashion, while second was Alonso Martínez Lister and third Martínez.


On Sunday there were  two sprint races.  The first race had a tight start with the leading cars bunching into the first corner while Salvador was left behind. He stormed up to 8th position even though he had to put up with constant harassments and contact from the other drivers.

During the second race Salvador started in sixth position but was soon with the leaders, catching the eye with his  sporty driving style and finally finishing second behind Javi Villa who took the win Salvador was second followed by Álvaro Rodríguez.

The overall championship ranking sees Salvador Tineo  leading with 53 points, Javi Reyes Villa with 44 and Reyes and Suria with 43 points.

The next race  will take place at the Circuit de Catalunya in Montmel, as a support race for the  Formula 1 on the 21st and 22nd of May.
